Tom nan Clach Wind Farm
The project has been named Tom nan Clach Wind Farm due to the location of the proposed site being situated close to the Tom nan Clach hill, and it is a joint venture between Infinergy and Cawdor Estate.
The proposed development will consist of the following:
- 17 turbines in total
- Each turbine will be 110 metres to blade tip
- Each turbine is likely to have a hub height between 60 metres and 75 metres
- It is expected that each turbine will have a generating capacity of 2.3 MW (megawatts)
- The total wind farm capacity is expected to be 39.1MW
- Serve up to 21,800 homes annually*
* 30% capacity factor and based on an average annual domestic electricity consumption of 4700 kWh (kilowatt hours)
