Site Development
The Tom nan Clach Wind Farm proposal is in the early stages of development. Nothing will be built until planning permission has been granted.
The current position is as follows:
Since 2006 Infinergy have been assessing the suitability of the site in terms of:
Technical considerations such as wind speeds and access
Environmental issues such as landscape and noise
Local community issues
In September 2007 a temporary anemometer mast (met mast) was installed on the site to measure wind speeds and wind direction at various measurement heights.
As part of Infinergy's consultation programme three public exhibitions were held in 2008-2009 in Tomatin, Cawdor and Carrbridge.
In June 2009 the final planning application and the Environmental Statement (ES) has been submitted to The Highland Council. To view the ES documents, please click

.
The Highland Council considered the planning application for the Tom nan Clach Wind Farm proposal on 23rd of August 2010 and rejected it
Infinergy appealed this decision and was granted a Public Inquiry which took place over 3 weeks in August/September 2011.
