Turbine components from manufacturer Vestas will soon begin to arrive at Inverness port in readiness for the journey to the site of Tom nan Clach on Cawdor Estate in Nairnshire.
A final delivery schedule is yet to be confirmed, but it is expected that the convoys of three loads per day will start in mid-August. A total of 130 loads will make the journey south on the A9 from Inverness to the Aviemore/Grainish junction before heading north east on the A95 to Dulnain Bridge. From Dulnain, the loads will continue along the A938, turning right at the B9007 Ferness road, just past Duthil, and continuing on until reaching the site entrance.
Police Scotland will manage the journeys undertaken by McFadyen's of Campbelltown and escort each of the convoys.
